3M Touch Systems and Zytronic PLC Announce Worldwide Touch-Screen Distribution Agreement

Methuen, MA - 3M Touch Systems Inc. announced a worldwide agreement to distribute a private-label version of projected capacitive touch screens produced by Zytronic PLC (Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England). Methuen, MA - 3M Touch Systems Inc . announced a worldwide agreement to distribute a private-label version of projected capacitive touch screens produced by Zytronic PLC (Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England). This agreement expands 3M's offering of touch-screen technologies, while providing Zytronic with a worldwide sales team and distribution channel to promote its products.

''Zytronic touch screens offer a synergistic solution and greatly complements our current technology offering,'' said Scott Hagermoser, manager, business development, 3M Touch Systems. ''We welcome the opportunity to offer this unique product to our customers.''

Zytronic's range of touch screens is based on projected capacitive touch technology that enables the device to sense a gloved or ungloved touch through a protective glass material. It incorporates several optical features into this patented technology that ensures high clarity and light transmission, while satisfying all the standard touch-screen requirements of speed of response, accuracy and reliability. The damage-resistant features enable application in outdoor, rugged environments in the public access arena with protection against physical threats, including scratches to its surface and outdoor contaminants.
