AC500-eCo I/O modules from ABB offer investment security, are easy to maintain, and offer a wide range of expansion modules, basic to advanced, the company says. Related controller uses programming software based on international standard IEC 61131-3. It supports decentralized I/O modules through a CS31 bus if more than seven local modules are needed. An integrated visualization tool simplifies operation of small applications. Function blocks can be re-used.
ABB says the system is easy to maintain because it:
• Retains data without battery;
• Allows downloading of the user program via SD card without a programming tool; and
• Has removable connectors to simplify product replacement.
Compact size is useful for applications in control panels, control enclosures, inside machines, or for distributed I/O or distributed control, to reduce wiring compared to more traditional alternatives.
