ABB joins North American PTO, supporting U.S. Profibus, Profinet efforts 

Wickliffe, OH — ABB Inc. joined PTO North America. PTO develops and promotes the use of Profibus fieldbus and Profinet industrial Ethernet standards for automation. ABB has been actively working with the PNO (Profibus and Profinet Nutzerorganisation) in Germany since its inception in 1989 and is a member of the PNO Advisory Board.

. PTO develops and promotes the use of Profibus fieldbus and Profinet industrial Ethernet standards for automation. ABB has been actively working with the PNO (Profibus and Profinet Nutzerorganisation) in Germany since its inception in 1989 and is a member of the PNO Advisory Board.

The PTO supports the discrete and process industries in achieving beneficial results using fieldbuses, specifically Profibus and Profinet . The PTO also assists device manufacturers in the development and marketing of Profibus and Profinet products.
