ABB joins North American PTO

ABB Inc. joined PTO North America. PTO develops and promotes the use of Profibus fieldbus and Profinet industrial Ethernet standards for automation. ABB has been actively working with the PNO (Profibus and Profinet Nutzerorganisation) in Germany since its inception in 1989 and is a member of the PNO Advisory Board.

ABB Inc. joined PTO North America. PTO develops and promotes the use of Profibus fieldbus and Profinet industrial Ethernet standards for automation. ABB has been actively working with the PNO (Profibus and Profinet Nutzerorganisation) in Germany since its inception in 1989 and is a member of the PNO Advisory Board.

“We are pleased to welcome ABB as a new member of the PTO,” said Michael Bryant, executive director of PTO North America, in a statement provided by ABB. “ABB has strongly demonstrated its commitment to helping its customers take advantage of the benefits offered by intelligent devices and integrated networks in its global activities; we are looking forward to working with them here in North America.”

ABB supports Profibus and other fieldbus protocols in its product and technology offerings for industrial and utility customers globally. The PTO supports the discrete and process industries in achieving beneficial results using fieldbuses, specifically Profibus and Profinet. Covering North America, PTO is one of 25 regional associations that comprise Profibus and Profinet International.
