Control Techniques’ latest “universal” ac drive, Unidrive Solution Platform (SP), operates in V/Hz, open- and closed-loop vector, brushless servo, and regeneration control modes. Up to 14 types of feedback signals, including absolute encoder, are selectable by software.

Other standard features include “secure disable” and a zero-space EMC filter. Solution modules add enhanced PLC functionality; five fieldbus communication options; extended I/O points; second universal encoder; and resolver. Initially, three models are available in the 1-40 hp range (and 1-484 lb/in. continuous torque for servo mode), operating on 208 to 575 V ac input. Unidrive SP has dual rating for normal and heavy-duty use. Control Techniques is a division of Emerson Industrial Automation. www.emersonct.com
