London, Ontario — Activplant today appointed Ted Williams to the role of chief executive officer. Williams, who joins from Computer Associates (CA) and who was an eleven-year veteran of MRO Software, will lead the company’s strategic direction and business growth effective immediately.

Williams succeeds Dennis Cocco, current CEO and president, who will assume the role of chief product strategist. The transition is part of a growth plan announced by Cocco in July 2005.

“Activplant is poised for explosive growth, and Ted’s solid track record in creating strong market demand will help build on our current momentum and bring us to new levels of success,” said Cocco. “We’re thrilled to welcome someone of his caliber to our team.”

Williams was senior vice president of worldwide sales operations at Computer Associates. Prior to that, he was the executive vice president of worldwide field operations of Concord Communications, where he directed the company’s global sales force, managed its international reseller network, and oversaw its professional services team. As part of MRO Software’s management team, Williams substantially contributed to the company’s revenue growth and directed the original Maximo product line.

Aimed at high-volume, high-automation plants, Activplant’s performance management software consolidates plant floor data into relevant real-time and historical information, enabling productivity gains by optimizing product, people, equipment, and processes. The privately held company is based in London, Ontario.
