Adalet introduces battery-powered wireless system

Adalet Wireless has launched a battery-powered, wireless transmission system for measuring temperature and pressure. This explosion-proof wireless system was designed for measuring and transmitting temperature and pressure signals from a Division 1 area to a safe area, eliminating the need for costly conduit and cable runs in hazardous locations. A rugged NEMA 4X version is also available for non-explosion-proof applications where rugged, waterproof protection is required.
Adalet says its systems are an innovative, cost-cutting solution for transmitting temperature, pressure, or other data signals in explosion-proof Division 1 or industrial areas. This is because hazardous-location wiring is expensive or unfeasible in many applications. Adalet’s products eliminate the need for expensive conduit and wires in hazardous or any industrial location.
The firm adds that its innovation will enable creative applications in Class I, Division 1 and industrial locations. Activities such as data collecting, sensor monitoring, and process control, previously unthinkable because of constraints with hard wiring, are now possible with Adalet’s wireless link.
Adalet’s wireless system consists of an explosion-proof, Division 1, or NEMA 4X enclosure, thermocouple, RTD, or pressure transducer inputs, self-contained lithium battery, radio transmitter, and antenna. A receiver unit is also included which can be installed in any of Adalet’s cast aluminum, fiberglass, or stainless steel enclosures.
Other features include: signal conditioning for thermocouple, RTD, or pressure transducer inputs; up to 3,000-ft range with no line of sight; no set up or programming required; data transmit interval set at factory in the range of 1 to 60 seconds; frequency-hopping, spread-spectrum technology; license-free 902-928 MHz ISM band; factory adjustable transmit power from 1 mW to 1 W; available outputs: RS-232, 4-20mA, 0-5V; glass dome for maximum RF signal transmission and visual inspection of status LEDs; and two
Adalet says its wireless system can be used in many applications, such as tank levels, PLC/RTU extensions; mills/quarries/factories; pump control; sensor monitoring; waste/wastewater; utilities; oil and gas; irrigation systems; and petrochemical.
