Near yearend 2005, Advanced Motion Controls (AMC) announced shipment of its millionth servo drive. It was a significant milestone in the company’s history, considering that AMC was founded in 1988 as a two-person start-up.

To celebrate, AMC employees built special commemorative servo drive units for the actual customer—a manufacturer of high-speed, precision wire bonding machines for IC fabrication—and AMC’s original founders, Sandor Barta and Daniel Schoenewald.

AMC is said to be one of the fastest growing independent drive companies in the world, noted for the reliability of its motion control products.
