Ametek completes deal to acquire instrumentation supplier
Paoli, PA — Ametek Inc. has acquired the Solartron Group from Roxboro Group PLC for approximately $75 million (EIG 2004 sales were approximately $667 million.
Solartron is composed of “differentiated, niche-focused businesses that fit nicely with several of our current process and analytical instrument businesses,” said Frank S. Harmance, Ametek chairman and chief executive officer. It consists of three businesses:
The agreement was announced in August and had been subject to the approval of Roxboro shareholders. Earlier last summer, Ametek expanded its high-end analytical instrument platform with the purchase of Spectro Beteiligungs GmbH, the holding company of Spectro Analytical Instruments GmbH & Co.
