Demand volatility is cited by the majority of respondents as the top supply chain risk, according to a recent survey by Boston-based AMR Research .

“Companies are investing heavily in demand-driven processes, and waking up to the risk that demand volatility poses to servicing their customers,” says Steve Hochman, research director for value chain strategy.In the survey, logistic failures and supplier relationships—60 percent and 59 percent, respectively—are named as critical areas.
