Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc., a supplier of factory automation design, engineering and process consulting services, recently entered into an agreement with Shafi Inc, to provide engineering and software services and support for Shafi’s RELIABOT PC 3D vision software products. The effort is part of AMT’s ongoing machine vision initiative, providing integrators and end users design, engineering and programming services for 2D and 3D robot guidance vision applications.

“Shafi has created a powerful set of vision software solutions, making even the most complex applications straight forward and viable,” said Joe Campbell, COO for Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. “Our customers have consistently asked us to support 3D vision applications, and we are pleased to do so with Shafi’s RELIABOT PC software.”

Under terms of the agreement, AMT will establish demonstration and development cells equipped with Shafi’s RELIABOT PC software and robots. Initial applications will include automotive sheet metal racking and unracking, structured and free-form bin picking and other common 3D material handling and assembly processes.
