Asset management system incorporates safety controller H51q, intrinsically safe analog isolator H 6200, and HART multiplexer H 6210 from HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co . KG to provide higher-level system preventive maintenance and display comprehensive diagnostic data at reduced cost.

Diagnostic data from field devices are extracted as HART signals by the H 6200 analog isolator. HART multiplexer H 6210 collects data from up to eight analog isolators and passes them over an integrated RS-485 interface to a HART/OPC server, which transmits the diagnostic data to the asset management system. The HART multiplexer protects field devices against unauthorized modifications in accordance with SIL 3 requirements. The 4-20 mA signals are directly coupled to the H51q safety controller and can be used for safety functions.

System is said to lower personnel requirements, plant downtime, and material costs. Reduced maintenance costs of up to 50% are reported.
