Anaheim, CA - Implementing a distributed machine control system requires component designed for an On-Machine architecture. In this framework, engineers deploy industrial controls and hardware directly on a machine, rather than in centralized cabinets. In this installment of Rockwell Automation product news from Automation Fair 2002, here are the recent additions to its on-machine component solutions.

The company has created a highly flexible, general-purpose version of its KwikLink flat media for DeviceNet.

The Series B line of 800Z Zero Force Touch Button family incorporates inter-linked sensor surface, fault-detection features, and pattern-recognition and noise-sensing algorithms for increased control reliability.

Field attachable connectors based on Insulation Displacement Connector (IDC) technology allows end users and OEMs to quickly form custom cable lengths with limited tools.

ArmorBlock MaXum I/O Modules feature two new industrially hardened blocks - a 16-input module and an 8-input/8-output module-that provide point-level diagnostics.

PanelConnect wiring system now includes IP65 and NEMA 4X-rated input and output modules.

ToughLink and ToughWeld Cordsets/Patchcords are engineered and built for rough applications where abrasion, harsh chemicals and cold temperatures (down to -40 degC) are common, while ToughWeld cords are also designed to be fire-retardant for automotive and other welding applications.
