Baldor to sell ABB low-and-medium voltage motors

Baldor has agreed to sell ABB motors. This allows Baldor to sell a wider offering of motors that meet worldwide standards, especially for hazardous conditions.

08/01/2011

Baldor Electric Company, a manufacturer of industrial electric motors, drives, mechanical power transmission products and generators, is now selling and supporting the complete line of ABB low- and medium-voltage industrial electric motors and generators. This allows Baldor to offer local customers NEMA and IEC motors to fit all global requirements, including motors that meet requirements for hazardous locations. The Baldor electrical sales force will also represent the ABB line of synchronous and induction generators used around the world in wind power, diesel, gas and steam power applications.

“Offering the ABB motors and generators through the Baldor electrical sales force will better serve our customers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, making it easy to order the motor you need, no matter what standards are required,” said Tracy Long, Baldor vice president of marketing. “This gives all ABB and Baldor customers in North America access to the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial electric motors from a single, local sales team,” Long stated. “Just a few months ago, our motor range was from fractional to 15,000 HP. Now the range has been extended to 100,000 HP along with a full line range of IEC metric motors.”

“Our local presence and the experienced staff from both ABB and Baldor will serve our customers needs better than ever before,” said Randy Colip, Baldor executive vice president of sales. “Plus, customers will continue to be supported by both ABB and Baldor technical staff at all the factory locations,” Colip said.
