Batch software addresses specific regulatory requirements

Rockwell Automation has announced enhancements to modules within its batch processing software, RSBizWare Batch.

Rockwell Automation has announced enhancements to modules within its batch processing software, RSBizWare Batch. New features in RSBizWare Batch version 7.0 are designed to improve security, audit capabilities, and productivity with ability to build signature templates, addition of command verification policies, and expanded functionality for process parameter limits.

RSBizWare Batch 7.0 supports configurable electronic signatures for automatic and manual operations. Signatures, stored in the software’s Batch Event Journal with corresponding audit events, include multiple levels of signoff, comments, security requirements, and date and time stamps for all activities. The software also supports signature templates, which predefine the number of signoffs required, purpose of each signoff, whether or not comments are required, and which users or user groups have security permissions to complete the signoff.

Command verification feature allows process engineers to control access to operations and ensure that operators are prompted for signatures when commands are executed. Pending signature requests associated with the running procedures are listed in RSBizWare Batch and ActiveX screens. In addition, RSBizWare Batch requires that batch recipes cannot be archived until electronic signatures are completed, thus helping users comply with government regulations.
