Balluff’s IO-Link enabled bi-directional inductive coupler is designed to enable transfer of power and data over a small air gap and is designed for tight industrial spaces in applications such as robotics, assembly line automation, and turntable-based systems. The Balluff IO-Link inductive coupler has a compact IP67 housing and offers 32 bytes of bi-directional data transfer over a 4-pole M12 sensor cable. The 4-pole sensor cables are designed to enable the connections to sensor hubs, actuation devices or IO-Link smart devices. This reduces cable clutter in industrial automation environments while allowing for large amounts of data transfer. It also utiliizes magnetic induction to exchange power and data wirelessly over a small gap or over a non-metallic barrier. And it is immune to vibration, oil, dust, or liquids.
