'Bolt-on' weight sensor

Seattle, Wa.— L-Cell weight sensor, a "bolt-on" device traditionally used on skirted silos, can now be applied to legged vessels. The palm-sized L-Cell, which uses the developer's Microcell technology, is attached to the support structure of a vessel (vertical legs, horizontal supports, and skirts) and uses its dual strain gauges to measure vessel weight.

Seattle, Wa. — L-Cell weight sensor, a "bolt-on" device traditionally used on skirted silos, can now be applied to legged vessels. The palm-sized L-Cell, which uses the developer's Microcell technology, is attached to the support structure of a vessel (vertical legs, horizontal supports, and skirts) and uses its dual strain gauges to measure vessel weight. The sensor is said to be ideal for retrofitting vessels without taking them out of service and losing production time. The device's miniaturized Microcells are connected to one another at a 90° orientation allowing L-Cell to compensate for thermal stresses and improve thermal stability. www.kistlermorse.com Kistler-Morse
