Braintech signs agreement with Marubeni

North Vancouver, B.C., Canada— Braintech Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Braintech Inc. , recently granted Marubeni Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) an exclusive license

Using theee on a per system basis for its eVF environment, as well as engineering services on a per project basis.

Marubeni has already opened its Marubeni Vision Techno Centre (MVTC) for application development and demonstration in Japan’s VR Technology Center (Nagoya, Japan). The product launch is slated for release in early 3Q02.

Initially, the two companies will collaborate on developing specific applications for the automotive powertrain sector by direct selling to both Japanese automakers and powertrain system integrators.

‘We’re very pleased with Braintech’s focus on the automotive industry. We feel automakers are anxious to adopt VGR automation as a manufacturing standard, and Braintech’s software gives us a significant lead time over the competition,’ says Takami Honda, gm of Marubeni’s production machinery department.

Owen Jones, Braintech’s ceo, adds that,h Marubeni driving business in Asia, I look forward to an increase in sales starting 3Q02.’
