MC73110 motor control IC for brushless dc motors is an intelligent, single-axis device designed to provide high-performance digital current loop, velocity loop, and commutation for brushless motors. Controller operates in one of three modes: internal velocity profile, velocity with an external command signal, and torque with an external command signal. It provides soft-ware-programmable velocity and current loops, six-step and sinusoidal commutation, analog or digital command input, profile generation and six-signal symmetric pulse width modulated wave-form generation. Suited for building high-performance, low-cost brushless motor amplifiers, it can be used in applications such as motion control amplifiers, motor drives, machine tools, and medical automation.
