bSquare Corp. has launched its CE XML Developers Kit, reportedly the first to support development of application software running on all devices using Windows CE version 2.11 and above. The kit helps developers create XML-aware Windows CE applications and process XML messages faster.

“XML is gaining momentum, and we recognized the need for quality tools for developers of innovative devices, such as web pads, smart phones, wireless PDAs, and more,” says Denise Slocombe, bSquare’s mobile and wireless group director. “Statistics show that nearly 70% of developers are planning to use XML in the future.”

The CE XML Developers Kit includes: an XML parser, generator and document object model manager; XML development support for Windows CE; COM components and source code, enabling developers to code advanced XML features; IE 5.0 XML (DOM) interface support; and the same interfaces as Windows NT.

bSquare also recently unveiled its CE Transaction Builder application development kit, an XML-based product that will allow developers to automatically generate components needed to produce Microsoft BizTalk-enabled applications for Windows CE. BizTalk Framework includes an open design framework for implementing an XML schema and a set of XML tags used in messages sent between applications.
