C&K Components, a supplier of tact switches, toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has developed a sealed pushbutton switch with life cycles to 1 million actuations. Designated the AP Series, the SPST, normally open, momentary action switch is sealed to IP67 specifications and is available in illuminated and non-illuminated versions, the company says.

"Along with the extended life cycles and illumination options, the AP Series switches are available with multiple mounting styles, including threaded or snap-in mounting," says David Webber, director of product management for C&K Components. The switch design is robust and versatile design, he says, "ideal for a variety of applications ranging from harsh environments, such as industrial, off-road and transportation applications, to medical and military equipment, and even gaming devices."

The AP Series switches are available with multiple colored caps (including black, red, orange, yellow and green), allowing users to order one base switch with multiple color caps to meet application-specific needs. Total travel is 2.3 mm, with a standard actuation force of 4N (2N force is optional) and logic level current through 2 A. Operating temperature ranges from -40

C&K Components is a division of CoActive Technologies, a privately held company manufacturing electromechanical switches, interface controls, keypads, dome arrays and modules. www.ck-components.com

Poll of the Week

Are your industrial networks well defended against cyber attacks?
Like Fort Knox. Solid defense in depth.
Well defended, I think, but not positive.
Working on it, but not there yet.
Few defenses, but who would find us?
