Cabinet dryers protect equipment in wet environments

Balston Cabinet Dryers avoid moisture damage in control equipment and marshalling cabinets, even in wash down areas.

November 17, 2010

Equipment and wiring cabinets that receive high-pressure and hot water wash downs will begin to take on water eventually. When seals wear or surfaces are damaged, moisture becomes trapped inside raising humidity levels and causing corrosion. Eventually wiring or devices fail causing downtime and maintenance headaches. Parker Balston Cabinet Dryers can dry out the interior so moisture evaporates quickly.

Designed specifically for wash down and other wet areas, these devices lower the dewpoint inside the cabinet to -7 °F (-21 °C). With a relative humidity of less than 10%, moisture can’t stay long enough to cause corrosion. The device does not heat the cabinet interior, it operates quietly, and requires no electrical power. Electrical components stay clean and dry which prolongs their life.
