CAD industry news is now available in a TV format. Putting information in a video format on the Web is expected to make it easier for viewers to catch up on the latest CAD announcements and watch user case studies and interviews.

Ash Bridge Media LLC and Alkemedia Productions LLC are behind the move, known as CADCAMNETtv (CCNtv). The programming effort is said to be the first-ever CAD news video broadcast across the Web. CCNtv relies on the combined expertise of CADCAMNet editors and the production and video direction capabilities of Alkemedia Productions to present newscasts said to be high in quality, relevant to CAD users, and pleasing to watch.

"Video on the Web is here, and people want it with the 'on-demand' that the Internet provides," said Greg Smith, CEO of Alkemedia Productions LLC. "CCNtv will provide a bi-weekly issue of CAD-focused news, interviews, and other content that streams to your desktop seamlessly, and quickly. If people enjoy it, we want hear about what they enjoy."

Current content is focused on general CAD news with some use-case highlights, added Randall S. Newton, CADCAMNet editor-in-chief. “But we would like the content to be user-driven," he continued. "We invite users to submit story ideas and to comment on what they want to see at CCNtv so we can shape this into a 'CAD current affairs' news show."

CCNtv aims to cover all vertical markets of the CAD world, including MCAD, AEC, GIS, Plant, and PLM. Viewing is free and sponsored by CAD vendors. Content is produced as a joint venture by Ash Bridge Media and Alkemedia Productions.
