Redmond, Wash.— Zetron announced the CellPhone Detector Plus for use in areas within power plants, control centers, laboratories, hospitals, industrial plants, and other facilities where sensitive electronic equipment could malfunction due to electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by the use of nearby wireless communication devices. When it detects cell phone or two-way radio transmissions, the CellPhone Detector Plus sounds an alarm followed by a voice message requesting the user to turn their communication device off immediately. Features include detection of both analog and digital cell phones, alarming upon Standby mode signals (when a cell phone is on but a call is not in progress), and a remote alarm output for connection to an external device such as an annunciator panel or alarm system.
