CFE Media, PMA approve content partnership

Association members, media company to deliver information to manufacturing industry

08/17/2011

The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) and CFE Media have entered into a content partnership agreement that will enable PMA staff and members to provide analysis and other information to the readers of Control Engineering and Plant Engineering magazines and their related Websites, while PMA’s extensive program activities will be publicized to CFE Media’s readers.

“Throughout its 98 year history, PMA has represented and supported the metalforming industry through advocacy, networking, education, tradeshows and other activities,” said Steve Rourke, managing partner of CFE Media. “We are very pleased to be collaborating with this distinguished association for the benefit of both PMA members and CFE Media readers.”

“There are great synergies between PMA and CFE Media,” said PMA President Bill Gaskin. “We’ll be able to broaden the reach of PMA-produced information by providing articles from PMA’s Metalforming Magazine and other publications produced by the association and its members, and, as important, publicize the many great events that we organize throughout the year.”

Gaskin continued, “An example of this synergy is CFE’s Leaders Under 40 program that features outstanding young people who are making a difference in manufacturing plants across the country. This program fits perfectly with PMA’s Next Generation Leaders Division that is designed to support and grow talent in the next generation of metalforming industry leaders by developing industry knowledge and leadership qualities for its members.”

Working with PMA professional staff, PMA members will be able to suggest ideas and contribute articles to Plant Engineering and Control Engineering. That content will be shared with their combined print circulation of more than 125,000 and Website audiences of more than 100,000 unique viewers.

“The partnership with PMA creates two unique opportunities,” said Plant Engineering content manager Bob Vavra. “The depth of information available through CFE Media will be more accessible to PMA members. More importantly, the expertise and knowledge of PMA members will find a new audience with CFE Media’s global manufacturing audience. That knowledge is critical at this important time for manufacturing, and we are excited to deliver that expertise to our content users.”

About PMA: PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $113-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes. Its nearly 1,000 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. PMA leads innovative member companies toward superior competitiveness and profitability through advocacy, networking, statistics, the PMA Educational Foundation, METALFORM tradeshows and MetalForming magazine.

About CFE Media LLC (Content for Engineers): CFE Media provides engineers in manufacturing, commercial and industrial buildings, and manufacturing control systems with the knowledge they need to improve their operational efficiency.
