Chocolate Potpourri leverages SYSPRO Power Tailoring, Lean, Web technologies

11/11/2008

SYSPRO is helping Chocolate Potpourri , a Chicago area maker of truffles, toffee, and other specialty chocolates, achieve Lean manufacturing controls through the vendor’s PragmaVision solutions approach—designed for small and midmarket manufacturers.
SYSPRO’s approach to adopting new technology—such as Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA) platforms—reflects the desires of its buyers driven by business needs and not by the latest headlines. SYSPRO calls its buyer landscape “PragmaVision,” consisting of pragmatic, visionary ERP executives who can enact processes for smart yet aggressive market growth.
“Our company is what SYSPRO calls a‘PragmaVist,’ ” says Chocolate Potpourri President Richard Gordon. “We stand by a set of pragmatic standards, yet have visionary growth goals. It’s a careful balance of using software to gain lean operational efficiencies, plus innovative marketing and order fulfillment. Even more than other food industry products that are frozen or packaged, we are offering a fresh, perishable commodity with a lot of seasonality in demand.”
