IDMax code reading software is designed for Direct Part Mark Identification (DPMI), a segment of the industrial ID market that involves directly marking parts with permanent two-dimensional Data Matrix codes, then reading those codes quickly and reliably throughout the production process. The software, based on Cognex’s patented PatMax technology, is termed “breakthrough” by the manufacturer. DPMI is a vital tool for creating the history of a part from beginning to end, for use later in supply chain management and repair depots. DPMI requires fast and reliable reading of Data Matrix codes on product surfaces. IDMax tolerates distorted, incon-sistent, and poorly marked codes to achieve high read rates. Software is now available on In-Sight 5100, 5400, and 3400 vision sensors.
