Omron Scientific Technologies Inc. introduces the D4SL very compact 6-contact Guard Lock Safety Door Switch. The D4SL features a durable metal-head to deliver long life in demanding industrial environments. Omron D4SL Safety Lock SwitchUsers will also benefit from easily selectable wiring, a wide variety of mounting methods and available operating keys, and a generous key slot that accommodates the misalignment and instability of real-life door applications. The result is a robust, simple-to-install switch that satisfies the safety needs of today’s door access applications.

“The unit’s head is manufactured of strong and durable metals to withstand prolonged use in the industrial workplace, and boasts a minimum key holding force of 1300 N to maximize the range of potential applications that can benefit from a tough, compact safety switch,” says Rich Puddicombe, Product Manager, Omron STI. “The D4SL can be mounted in four different directions by simply rotating the dedicated spacer, allowing the mounting screws to be inserted in four different directions; enabling the D4SL to be mounted in any direction without the need to rotate the head. They also feature a wider key slot than other models for seamless key insertion, even when the door is unstable or has a small radius.”

D4SL switches are available with two types of wiring. Connector-type wiring models feature a connector cable that eliminates potential miswiring, and that facilitates fast maintenance and easy switch replacement in the event a switch is damaged. Omron D4SL Safety Lock SwitchTerminal block-type models include a detachable terminal block that significantly increases wiring efficiency.

The D4SL is a 6-contact safety switch. This enables users to independently monitor door open/closed status, as well as solenoid on/off status, from a single switch. Additionally, easy view LED indicators allow users to quickly check switch status from any direction. Finally, six different horizontal-mount and vertical-mount operating keys are available to satisfy varying shock and vibration resistance needs.

The D4SL Guard Lock Safety Door Switch is available with an optional Slide Bolt with key to prevent workers from becoming trapped inside a hazardous area, without having to use a padlock.
