Wonderware

has added compact panels to its industrial computer line.enterprise.

These are an alternative to stand-alone, proprietary operator interface panels, combining robust hardware with powerful Wonderware HMI software to supervise and manage industrial and manufacturing operations.

The computers offer easy installation and a competitive entry-level price point by bundling a subset of the latest HMI runtime functionality of InTouch 10.0 software with sturdy industrial touchscreen operator panels running

Microsoft Windows CE v6.0 software

. They are offered in a range of screen sizes and comply with various industrial environment ratings, including NEMA 4X/IP 66 and Class 1, Div. 2.

According to the company, customers will benefit from a common visualization strategy from the smallest devices to a network of servers or hundreds of clients operating and managed with a common Wonderware software toolset.

The computers are configured and managed via newly introduced Wonderware Development Studio, which the company says is designed to enable IT and engineering teams to collaborate on software application modeling, development, change management, and deployment across a range of software applications, including InTouch 10.0 HMI software, System Platform 3.0 software, and ArchestrA technology-based applications.

“Wonderware Compact Panel offerings enable customers to utilize the new InTouch 10.0 software consistently across all devices in a plant at an extraordinary value,” says Phil Couling, marketing program manager for supervisory HMI. He says the computers will save time for engineers by creating applications in only one development environment instead of using multiple proprietary operator interface products. They include a bundled package of hardware and runtime software, ready to use out of the box.

To address the international market, the computers can operate Microsoft Windows CE v6.0 with Microsoft’s localized Multilingual User Interface.
