iCAP 6000 Series of ICP emission spectrometers from Thermo Electron Corp. feature compact size and high-efficiency optical design.

Cambridge, UK —iCAP 6000 Series of inductively coupled plasma (ICP) emission spectrometers from Thermo Electron Corp . offer high efficiency optical design and small size. iCap 6300 and 6500 are said to provide excellent resolution, stability and senstivity, and detection limits that enhance productivity, ease operation, and reduce cost of ownership. Instruments are suited for general and elemental analysis in the environmental, petrochemical, metal, food and beverage, geo-chemical, and cement industries.
Series is equipped with a high-power, solid-state RF generator capable of handling all sample types. RACID86 fourth-generation, charge-injection device (CID) detector performs non-destructive readouts. It allows high intensity signals to be read rapidly while lower intensity signals are accumulated over a longer time, ensuring optimum signal-to-noise and resistance-to-saturation.
iCAP 6300 for routine analysis comes with a dedicated radial or duo-plasma source. Radial view achieves optimum performance and minimum interference for difficult samples. Duo offers axial view for lowest detection limits and radial view for reduced interference, suitable for environmental samples.
iCAP 6500 operates via software with automated set-up and automatic optimization. System includes an intelligent operation mode to group functions together, minimizing overhead time and ensuring typical time saving of 15% for an analysis where axial and radial measurements are made.
