CompactPCI: Kontron unveils new range of rugged 6U boards

Kontron AG unveiled the CP6001 – a new 6U cPCI (CompactPCI) board based on Intel’s Core Duo / Core 2 Duo processor and mobile chipset – during the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) in Boston, MA. The new line provides OEMs and other machine builders with a solid combination of low power consumption and robust processing speeds for demanding embedded applications.

in Boston, MA. The new line provides OEMs and other machine builders with a solid combination of low power consumption and robust processing speeds for demanding embedded applications.

Most notable about the CP6001 is the various “ruggedized” configurations available: R1 for standard air-cooled environments, R2 for high-shock and high-vibration environments and the conduction cooled R3, the most durable in the range which is fully compliant with

VITA

47 ECC4 requirements. For applications requiring non-rotating and non-volatile memory, up to 8GB of USB memory or up to 2GB of soldered flash is available.

Support for multiple operating systems is also available, including for the

Wind River

VxWorks Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
