Kontron’s VX3058 is a computing node that features Dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), high bandwidth PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0, and high-speed DDR4 memory. The VX3058 is ruggedized for harsh environments and size, weight, power and cost and features digital signal processing (DSP). It is designed for demanding military server and other high performance embedded computing (HPEC) applications such as virtual machine architectures. The Kontron VX3058 provides two 10 GBASE-KR ports and eight Gen3 PCI Express lanes to the backplane. The VX3058 also offers mezzanine options for XMC, storage, graphics, M.2, and I/O. Front input/output (I/O) module options are selectable for DVI/HDMI, Ethernet or other interfaces. The Kontron VxFabric provides an API designed to extend the TCP/IP protocol over the PCI Express infrastructure that when combined with advanced switch technologies for higher I/O bandwidth. Options include a shelf manager for centralized health management, sequenced system power-up and temperature/power/performance management as well as power-on built-in test (PBIT) that give designers a comprehensive package for board and system diagnosis.
