Anyone who’s made a confined space entry will appreciate the M40 multi-gas detector recently introduced by Industrial Scientific .

The M40 is capable of simultaneously measuring carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, oxygen, and combustible gases and is suited for a wide variety of confined space and personal monitoring applications. Durably built and simple to operate, the M40 provides a reliable, low-cost alternative for simultaneous monitoring of any configuration of one to four gases.
The M40’s composite case rejects radio frequency and electromagnetic interference, and houses four discrete sensors, a large LCD display, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 18 hours of continuous use.

When gas concentrations exceed preset limits, the M40 monitor alerts the user with a visual readout, a 90-dB audible alarm, and a vibrating alarm for high-noise environments.

Each M40 monitor includes a charger, nylon carrying case, cell-phone belt clip, and calibration cup with tubing. Available accessories include a motorized remote sampling pump, 12 VDC automobile charger, and datalink. The M40 weighs 8.6 ounces and includes an all-inclusive 2-year warranty.
