Sola/Hevi-Duty S3K Series UPS includes power management software to facilitate graceful shutdown of critical processes.

Recent control components products include power supplies, wiring connectors and RF connectors. Power supplies can ensure graceful shutdown of critical processes in case power failure extends beyond the protection period, such as recently introduced mini-tower line-interactive uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Connectors help integrate various components. Here's more information about products from Sola/Hevi-Duty, Electronika International, and Wago.

Sola/Hevi-Duty introduced the S3K Series UPS. Said to balance affordability and performance, the new S3K UPS features a sinewave output, Advanced Voltage Regulation (AVR) for increased battery life, and Line Interactive technology to help back-up and protect equipment.

Electronika SMA-type connectors can be soldered to the printed circuit board using the conventional re-flow soldering process.

The mini-tower shape fits into cabinets and tight spaces easily. The S3K Series are 120 V ac models with power ratings of 700, 1,000 and 1,600 VA. Standard features include: input voltage surge suppression, surge-protected telephone and modem connections, battery (internal) backup time up to eight minutes at full load, hot swappable and end-user replaceable internal batteries, DB-9 communications port, computer equipment or computer peripherals. Pricing starts at $515. Sola/Hevi-Duty is a member of the EGS Electrical Group, and is based in Rosemont, IL

SMA-type connectors: Electronika International Inc . manufacturers RF connectors up to frequency of 18 GHz and recently introduced an SMA-type connector (surface mount connector). SMA connector has flange size of 6.35mm square, with brass-steel body with gold or nickel plating, Teflon insulation, and beryllium-copper pins. Standard packing comes in tube and bulk packet. Price at volume of 1,000 is $1.99 each. Applications include wireless networking and instrumentation products, among others. Electronika International Inc. is based in Cleveland, OH.

Splice and connect

Terminate wire sizes from 28 AWG to 12 AWG in solid and stranded forms with the new Wago 222 Series compact splicing connector. It is designed as a cost-effective, more flexible alternative to traditional twist or crimp-style connectors.
