Renee Robbins has been named as Control Engineering ‘s editorial director. In this role, Robbins will manage the content direction for the publication and its increasingly rich online offerings to ensure that Control Engineering continues to evolve with today’s industry trends. The rest of the magazine’s experienced editorial team remains intact, providing timely, thought-provoking and practical information to engineering professionals in the process, discrete, and hybrid manufacturing industries.

“I am proud to be a part of such an active, global community of readers, and look forward to ensuring they get the information they need to do their jobs better,” said Robbins. “No matter how it’s delivered—in print, online, or live during events and Webcasts—the information gathered and distilled by Control Engineering editors is second to none.”

Robbins comes to Control Engineering after serving as executive editor of A-B Journal , the award-winning customer publication for Rockwell Automation. The rest of her 21-year journalistic career was spent in editorial roles covering software and information systems, and other business topics.

Robbins replaces David Greenfield who leaves Control Engineering to become publisher of Manufacturing Business Technology, another Reed Business Information publication, which serves the information technology needs of manufacturing executives.

Renee Robbins’ e-mail address is: renee.robbins@reedbusiness.com .
