Marc Moschetto assumed the editorial director position at Control Engineering the week of Sept. 10. He was hired after Renee Robbins, who came on as editorial director in March 2006, chose to move into the role of senior editor.

Moschetto, a cum laude graduate of Northeastern University’s School of Journalism, brings more than 13 years of industry experience to his role at the publication.

Prior to joining Reed Business Information, Moschetto was director of manufacturing industry marketing and market development for Workbrain (now Infor), a leading provider of workforce management automation solutions.

Control Engineering has long been regarded as the definitive source for news, events and trends affecting the manufacturing community,” Moschetto said. “I’m proud to be part of such an exceptional team and look forward to enhancing and extending the reach of the publication.”

Prior to his tenure at Workbrain, Moschetto held senior positions with several leading manufacturing technology organizations, including Schneider Electric and GE Fanuc. He has also authored several articles on topics ranging from the strategic role of data collection and analysis within manufacturing environments to North American-based alternatives to offshore outsourcing.

Moschetto replaces Robbins, who will remain on the editorial staff as senior editor. Robbins brings more than 22 years of journalism expertise to her role at Control Engineering , including her highly successful tenure as executive editor of Rockwell Automation’s award-winning A-B Journal . In addition to her roles at Control Engineering and A-B Journal , Robbins has extensively covered software, information systems and other business topics.

“I look forward to passing on the leadership role to Marc and to supporting him as Control Engineering enters its 55th year,” Robbins said. “My new role will allow me to focus on my content beat of Information Control, which includes topics such as HMIs, PLCs/PACs, PC-based control, and simulation software, while freeing up time for family responsibilities.”
