$789,000,000,000 in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
aims to create jobs, jumpstart growth, and transform our economy to compete in the 21st century, according to President Barak Obama. The compromise package will create or save 3.5 million jobs over the next two years in a range of industries from clean energy to health care, according to a White House press release, with over 90% in the private sector. The Feb. 17 press release also links to more detailed informaiton, including a breakdown by states.
