Control Engineering’s Jeanine Katzel retires, accepts consulting editor role

After more than 32 years in industry, including 25 years with Plant Engineering and 6 years with Control Engineering magazines, Jeanine Katzel, Control Engineering senior editor retired May 11 from Reed Business Information.

After more than 32 years in industry, including 25 years with Plant Engineering and 6 years with Control Engineering magazines, Jeanine Katzel, Control Engineering senior editor retired May 11 from Reed Business Information. She will continue as consulting editor with Control Engineering .

I remember visiting the Paul Masson wineries to do in application story and walking through huge vats of wine by day, then being driven to a mountain top lodge in the evening for a spectacular view, a delicious dinner, and a concert. I also remember goingthrough the Ansul Fire Training School when I was covering fire protection and going through all the training activities with the rest of the guys. They were wonderful and helpful. At one point we were putting out controlled pressure fires and the instructor came over and said we needed to be careful because the force of the water line would likely lift someone my size right off the ground. Two of my classmates stood with me as we held the hose, and it would indeed have carried me away if not for their help.”
