Controller integrates switching regulator

LTC4267 IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) controller features an integrated switching regulator to simply powered device (PD) design. Space-saving 3 mm x 5 mm DFN package ensures compliance with the IEEE 802-3af PoE standards and includes an on-board 25 kOhm signa-ture resistor and classification current source. Device fits in voice-over-IP phones, networks, wireless access points, security cameras, or any small Ethernet-connect device requiring less than 13 W power. It also features a constant-frequency current mode dc/dc controller easily tailored to a variety of power supply voltage and load current requirements.
