Controller tracks low output voltages

LTC3802 wide-input voltage range, dual 2-phase dc/dc synchronous controller converts a high-input voltage to low-output voltages at a high switching frequency. Leading edge modulation architecture allows extremely low duty cycles without compromising the operating switching frequency. Fast nominal 550 kHz switching frequency is phase-lockable from 300 to 750 kHz.

LTC3802 wide-input voltage range, dual 2-phase dc/dc synchronous controller converts a high-input voltage to low-output voltages at a high switching frequency. Leading edge modulation architecture allows extremely low duty cycles without compromising the operating switching frequency. Fast nominal 550 kHz switching frequency is phase-lockable from 300 to 750 kHz. Device uses lower value, small size inductors and capacitors for regulating output voltages as low as 0.6 V. Two-phase operation reduces peak input current ripple to minimize the number of input capacitors. Applications include point-of-load power supplies for sub-1V, 1.xV, 2.xV, and 3.xV in embedded systems, access switch routers, compact PCI, and servers.
