In the November 1997 Control Engineering cover article, “Flow Sensing: The Next Generation,” Fluid Components International was incorrectly named on page 62.

On page 64, in the sidebar “Flow Conditioners Save Piping,” Vortab Co. should have been shown as based in San Marcos, Calif. Sam Kresch, Vortab marketing manager, cited a Southwest Research Institute (San Antonio, Tex.) gas industry study of straightening devices with orifice plates. Results showed Vortab provided the best isolation from upstream disturbances, Mr. Kresch says.

Also in the November 1997 issue, the Product Focus section on data acquisition neglected to include the new PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation (PXI) specification from National Instruments (Austin, Tex.). PXI delivers a modular architecture that uses PCI bus in the CompactPCI form factor for a wide range of PC-based control and measurement applications, including machine vision, high-speed measurements, product testing, process monitoring, motion control, automation, and data acquisition.
