SoftMotion Development Module for LabView lets machine builders and OEMs create customized motion controllers for any platform with National Instruments’ (NI) SoftMotion technology. Product deploys a variety of motion control functions and custom algorithms to any hardware platform, based on machine builders’ requirements and price and performance needs.

Software includes functions for trajectory generation, spline interpolation, position and velocity PID control, and encoder implementation in LabView Real-Time and FPGA modules. SoftMotion lets machine builders and OEMs create flexible motion control programs, which they can redesign to accommodate variations in motion control algorithms at run time. The module helps users build and implement custom motion controllers using CompactRIO, plug-in M Series data acquisition modules, plug-in R Series modules or Compact FieldPoint, depending on requirements. www.ni.com
