The Conair Group Inc., Cutler-Hammer, a business unit of Eaton Corp., and Wesco International Inc. agreed April 3 to create an integrated supply chain to reduce Conair’s electrical equipment costs. Under the three-year agreement, Cutler-Hammer and Wesco will supply electrical products and services needed to support Conair’s plastics processing auxiliary equipment business. Conair is expected to benefit from more efficient, less expensive product sourcing; rationalized, higher performance control solutions; and outsourced service. Conair will outsource design and production of control panels to Cutler-Hammer, which will also share its expertise in lean manufacturing production systems, raw material sourcing, and e-business architecture to reduce Conair’s panel production and transaction costs.
