Data acquisition: Enhanced software for USB, PCI hardware

Measurement Computing Corp. released TracerDAQ Pro enhanced version of TracerDAQ for data acquisition professionals.

05/29/2007

Norton, MA Measurement Computing Corp. released TracerDAQ Pro enhanced version of TracerDAQ for data acquisition professionals. The original version was introduced in January 2004 as a strip chart recorder and data logger software application to ship with the company’s USB products. Now, the full-function software includes four virtual instrument applications that graphically display and store input data, and generate output signals within minutes.

“The features offered in TracerDAQ’s first release matched well with our initial USB-based product offerings,” explained Jim Ficaro, Measurement Computing’s director of marketing. “Since then, we’ve expanded our product portfolio—and with it, the number of applications in which our products are used. In turn, we’ve expanded TracerDAQ’s capabilities to better meet the diverse test and measurement needs of our customers. With TracerDAQ Pro, we offer enhanced functionality and throughput, while still delivering the out-of-the-box, non-programming solution our customers expect.”

The new Professional version is a full-featured data acquisition software suite, built specifically for users of the company’s PCI- and USB-based hardware. TracerDAQ Pro provides four virtual instrument applications that graphically display and store input data, and generate output signals within minutes. Users can customize appearance, store configurations for future use, save data to a file for export, and—with the use of interactive hotspots—change settings while the application is running.

TracerDAQ Pro applications include: strip chart for logging and graphing data from analog, digital, counter, and temperature inputs; oscilloscope to display values acquired from analog inputs; function generator to generate user selectable sine, square, triangle, constant, saw tooth or custom waveforms; rate generator put out clock signals with variable frequency, duty cycle, and initial state of the waveform.

TracerDAQ PRO will regularly sell for $199, but a special introductory price of $169 is available until and June 15, 2007.
