Waterloo, ON Canada - With a compact form factor intended for true distributed motion-control applications, MAX3000 platform combines 1-4 axes of digital servo amplifiers with DSP motion control and serial networking. A 4-axis unit, able to drive four 400-W brushless motors, measures 3.4 x 5.3 in. MAX3000 features both third-order interpolation and Firewire communication 'to synchronize and spline position and velocity setpoints,' which optimizes advanced robotic applications requiring host-based kinematic calculations, according to the manufacturer. MAX3000's modular architecture allows users to preselect voltage and current to match motor requirements. A unit is typically installed inside a machine or robot housing to reduce wiring and improve performance.
