Dresser-Rand agrees to acquire Tuthill assets

Dresser-Rand Co. announced that a wholly owned subsidiary has entered into an agreement with Tuthill Corp. of Burr Ridge, IL, to acquire certain assets of its Tuthill Energy Systems (TES) division.

Dresser-Rand Co . announced that a wholly owned subsidiary has entered into an agreement with Tuthill Corp. of Burr Ridge, IL, to acquire certain assets of its Tuthill Energy Systems (TES) division. TES is an international manufacturer of single- and multi-stage turbines and portable ventilators used throughout the energy industry.

TES operates in Burlington, IA, Millbury, MA, and Bielefeld, Germany. It traces its beginnings to 1870 and manufactures under the Coppus, Murray, and Nadrowski brands. Power offerings reach 28,000 hp for power generation and mechanical drive applications. Dresser-Rand supplies rotating equipment worldwide to the oil, gas, petrochemical, and process industries. It operates in the U.S., France, Germany, Norway, India, and Brazil, and maintains service and support centers in 105 countries.

The agreement is subject to review and approval by government regulatory agencies. If approved, the transaction is expected to be closed later this year. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
