Danfoss’ Vacon X5 HazLo is an ac drive designed for hazardous locations and applications such as refineries, utility gas plants, or other areas where ignitable substances are not normally present but may exist in unusual scenarios. The Vacon X5 HazLo’s UL Type 4X indoor/outdoor-rated enclosure provides a compact, cost-effective patent designed unit that eliminates the need for bulky, heavy and expensive enclosures. Cooling is no longer a concern so an additional enclosure box is not required, reducing costs. The Vacon X5 HazLo can be programmed and controlled from the keypad and users have complete access to all of the keypad functions. Simple programming provides clear and concise visual information, helping to ensure the drive is operating as intended at all times. It also features an integrated brake resistor for better handling of high inertial loads and warm up in cold conditions. It also has a multi-step sequencer that can replace small programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for more flexible programming.
