New SeriaLan, a dual RS-232 port Wireless LAN, transmits/receives RS-232 serial data to/from any 802.11b wireless LAN networks, PCs, laptops, and PDAs, or worldwide via the Internet. Reportedly, it’s the only device of its type in the world. SeriaLan works without software drivers, and is upgradeable to 802.11a/g future protocols. The dual port RS-232 is individually programmable for rates to 115K bps. Options include OEM, built-in, DIN-rail, bulkhead mount and remote antenna. SeriaLan is intended to attach to PLCs (uploading new programs or downloading data), as well as equipment cabinets, instrumentation, telemetry, and any RS-232 network.
