DVT to brand-label machine vision systems for Siemens
Nuremburg, Germany—DVT Corp. (Norcross, GA) announced Nov. 26 at the annual SPS/IPC/Drives 2002 tradeshow that it will brand-label machine vision systems for Siemens AG's (Erlangen, Germany) Automation & Drives Group.
The two firms have agreed that DVT will supply brand-labeled versions of its Legend family of SmartImage Sensors and FrameWork software to Siemens, while DVT may offer a brand labeled version of Siemens' VS100 series of vision systems through its global network of automation solution providers. VS100 is designed for image processing tasks for specific applications such as optical form inspection of small parts.
'DVT created the smart camera market over 11 years ago, and we continue to lead the industry with innovative solutions. This cooperative agreement with Siemens will serve both of our global customer bases and distribution networks by leveraging the strengths of each company," says Bob Steinke, DVT's chairman and ceo. "The Legend family of products will provide a wide range of solutions to Siemens customers, including CMOS- and CCD-based systems; gray scale, color, high resolution and high speed units. And this cooperation will fuel DVT's R&D program to even faster product development and introduction.'
Bob Settle, DVT's marketing director, adds that, 'We remain fully committed to our global customers, our distribution network of more than 130 Automation Solution Providers, and our strategic partners. DVT will continue to lead the industry in product innovation, free training and free software. Our Ethernet-based products will easily integrate into any control system and customers will benefit from an expanded emphasis on online training, remote diagnostics and troubleshooting via DVT Online Conferencing (DOC).'
