ACT20P Bridge Signal Converter/Isolator - The ACT20P Bridge reads signals from load cells and converts the signals (such as engine and turbine strain measurement, or weight or level controls measurement) into standard analog signals. This is a Control Engineering 2011 Engineers' Choice (EC) nominee.Weidmuller's new ACT20P Bridge signal converter/isolator, housed in a 22.5 mm wide package, raises the bar for conditioner performance. Designed for factory and process load-cell applications such as engine and turbine strain measurement, and weight or level controls measurement, this new converter/isolator accepts up to four load cell inputs in a single unit. Compared with bulky electronics systems from load cell suppliers, the compact, DIN-rail mountable ACT20P Bridge is easy to set up and use, and provides a full range of benefits.

For fast and accurate weighing, the  €œP-Bridge € provides 65ms response time (10-90%) with 0.05% accuracy. If a different load cell is required for a new application, the P-Bridge offers users switch-selectable input and output ranging, with simple and reliable on-site push button calibration, all easily accessible behind the front cover of the unit. The P-Bridge can be integrated into the load controls, allowing the user to operate and feed an external relay input before each measurement to subtract the tare weight. Simple calibration can be performed on-site by means of either a push button or a signal from the PLC.

Standard installation features include 12-60 V dc auxiliary power, a selectable 5 V / 10 V sensor supply, a 4-wire or 6-wire sensor connection, an operating temperature range of  -4 °F to +158 °F (-20 °C to 70 °C) and 4 kV isolation between ports. The isolation between the input, the voltage supply and the output ports is 4kV, for protection against noise in the field.

The P Bridge housing features pluggable field connectors, each with a lever for easy removal, and individually coded to prevent miss-connection.  In addition, timesaving cross-connections for power voltages are available via the power rail option. With CE and cULus approvals, the ACT20P Bridge is suitable for use worldwide.
